Meatpacking

First of all, I really really really miss my old hair...ugh, okay. Moving on... Last Spring, I had the opportunity to work with landscape turned beauty/lifestyle photographer Lester Lau. He is literally one of the nicest people I've met in this city--so quiet and thoughtful, and obviously talented, and just a genuinely nice person. It was the perfect spring morning in the meatpacking district—cool, breezy, sunny, and barely any people around . With the wild fur coat, I think now is the time to finally post (although I'm not against the idea of wearing fur all year round--it shows character). In the first couple of photos, I'm wearing an early 90's maxi dress, then a sweater from Forever 21, and of course a massive faux fur coat from Zara—all paired with vintage jewelry. Ladies... and gents, time to bring your furs out! Fall has begun.

It's "The Rush"

So last weekend, I was rushing home from somewhere down the block and I ran into photographer extraordinaire, Kwesi Abbensetts, on the street. I was thinking "of course I would be shot on a rough day haha (hair a hot mess, sweaty and tired, obviously not looking my best)", BUT amazingly, he still captured the good side of me and I love it! Check out his awesome work at: spaceshipgeorge.com.

I heart David

Don't you just LOVE David?!! Aaaaggghhhhh... (don't mind me...)
Not to be soooooo "cliche," but "muah—smooches"
Writer's block on the ad libs, but whatev...

Outfit: T-shirt- Vintage (and for sale), shorts- h&m, tights- dkny, heels- zara, necklace- vintage, hoops- craft fair fresh, purse- hot red and vintage

So apparently "I <3 David"... and you're probably thinking "Who the heck is David"? Well by David, I mean Bradley haha. Anyway, this is a 1980's vintage t-shirt that I surprisingly found in Brooklyn. Yes, it's for sale and no, I don't wear this as my own—I just modeled it this one time. I really love that there are numbers on the back like a jersey (it's the perfect detail to add). The letters and the heart on the front are kind of velvety too, which is pretty nice. Got questions? Email me: christiana [at] bum-cake.com.

Oh, one more thing... this was shot when it was still cold out, soooooo please disregard the tights, haha.

Hangin' with GirlsWithCurls

We trekked over the Manhattan Bridge on the hottest day ever...

           Come visit me sometime...

Daniel wearing his Bum-Cake Vintage cross necklace

Soooo I basically spent a weekend with the adventurous Daniel Racz from GirlsWithCurls and it happened to be pretty freakin' cool... We met in DUMBO, Brooklyn wandering around the neighborhood, discovering awesome shops and cafes, and then we decided to trek over the Manhattan Bridge straight into Chinatown. It was literally the hottest day ever, but we managed to discover some cool things around the city and Brooklyn, while my curls were being documented. After a long day in the city, he visited my booth at Artists & Fleas the next day... He got to see my real passion--sharing vintage awesomeness with the world haha. Anyway, Daniel was sweet enough to cop a vintage cross necklace that I must say, totally matches his style! In a nutshell, we had a great time... A lot of curl talk in the midst of exploring the coolest city in the world while trying to beat the heat. See more from our weekend at: GirlsWithCurls.tumblr.com

I like trees, hehe... pretty ones!

This door was just "IT"... I wanted to take it with me (smh).

clothing: vintage acdc t-shirt, vintage african skirt, diba boots, h&m coat, hoop earrings from a craft fair, h&m scarf

Two weeks ago, I had the awesome opportunity to hang out with (and be featured by) my friends & favorite couple—Stacey & Jahri, the Peculiar Artistry duo (power couple on the rise), are absolutely delightful to work with & in general! They're super coooool & they made me look pretty neat (since I'm mostly a mess), which was wonderful. Check out their blog, it's a great resource for finding new artists, talent, & just simply amazing individuals. Thanks again, guys xoxoxo!
